High School - do we ever leave it?

I have a myspace and that goofy top friend stuff is getting on my nerves a bit. I get a message from one of my friends that she doesn't understand why I am not in her Top 8 and why certain other people are there.

My response - ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SERIOUSLY? Are you really asking me such a petty question?

So, I went on google and found the code to hide my friends -- so now - no one can act like children when it comes to who is in the Top 4, Top 8 blah blah ----

Seriously for a girl who is 31 years old she sure is acting like she is 14. Wow - just wow!

Do we ever really high school? I guess Myspace is for today's generation as passing notes was for mine - however my best friend in high school and I had a 300 page notebook we would hand back and forth to each other to write notes - we were super cool - haha - I still have it too in a box somewhere.

Pedicures aren't suppose to hurt

So, I got a pedicure in the hotel spa today - it just reopened after remodeling, however they didn't remodel the manicure/pedicure area, first of all the chair was uncomfortable and then the person doing the pedicure was a freaking nightmare...........................I told her on numerous occasions she was hurting me - I thought she was going to break my toes a few times - seriously. I should have gotten up - but I didn't.

I get to check out and its 85 bucks - WTF - the spa pedicure from hell is 85 - I advised the receptionist that was not a 4 star spa quality pedicure. I went upstairs talked to the hotel manager politely because I have been living here the past 3 weeks and have 2 more to go. I told him that pedicure was at the most worth 15 bucks not 85 - honestly it should be free. He apologized and said he would take care of it.

2 hours later, the phone rings in my room and its the receptionist from the spa and she advised me that she talked to her manager about my experience and get this - will give me 30 percent off bahahahaha and a free manicure - I just agreed and hung up. I'm sorry but my feet still hurt from the pressure and my toes - don't get me started on them - they are sore.

Tomorrow morning, I will address this again - this will be completely refunded by the time I get done. An 85 dollar pedicure should involve quality products, comfortable chairs and a great foot massage. I didn't have any of these - the bottoms of my feet are still rough.

Have any of you ever had a bad spa experience? Share your story...........

Holy Ticket Sell Out Batman - Sex and the City

I have in my hand 3 tickets for Sex and the City for Friday night - oh yes my friends at 8:50 pm at theater in the East Bay section of San Francisco - meaning across that bridge I am afraid of - the Bay Bridge - I will be sitting there getting ready to watch the movie I have been anticipating forever. I am going with another girl I am working with out here and her friend. I AM SO EXCITED.

The tickets are totally selling out - we were hoping to see it in the city here - but its sold out already!!!!!!

I seriously can't wait to see this!!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!!

In other news - had the best prime rib ever tonight at the House of Prime Rib - if you ever come to San Francisco - you must go to this place - VERY PRICEY! But so worth it! I had a nice glass of Makers Mark Bourbon with my prime rib - yummy

Happy Birthday Rudy!!

Wish you were the Presidential Contender - I have such great love for this man!!!!

Have a Great Birthday Man!!!

Lets talk Gasoline - cause ya know everyone else is lol

Holy cow batman - this is really gotten out of hand. Granted while in SF I am taking cabs, back in DC I take the VRE train - so glad for that I really am. I am now sorry I own an SUV, granted it doesn't suck as much fuel as the typical SUV you are picturing, I have a smaller SUV.

I wonder what the bankruptcy rate is in the United States now - $4.oo a gallon! WOW - we are going to be one bankrupt United States with the way things are going. I have student loans and credit card debt (thanks assmidget ex-fiance for that) - I am getting by ok - just ok - if I drove to work everyday in DC traffic - it would cost me 120 a week in fuel - YIKES!!!

You have all these politicians talking change - well ya know we don't have till November for change -- Congress needs to do something now!!!

I am just thankful that I do live in an area that has an abundance of public transportation like DC does. If I still lived in Louisville, or moved to Detroit like I was planning to awhile back - goodness I would be really broke. Detroit is still a possibility - but Chicago and Atlanta are on the list as well - this won't happen for a few years though - but by then whats gas gonna be 6 bucks???

Rant over!

Yeah and now I'm listening to Ice Cube - Word

Thanks to Flava Flav Junior driving me this morning (see post below) I am now cranking up the jams of Ice Cube - from the Save The Last Dance (great movie) sound track.............

::dancing in my cube::

Flava Flav was my cab driver this morning - well his twin

Ahh the SF cab experiance has been an interesting one to say the least - this morning I had Flava Flav's twin brother - seriously and we had jams - he was blasting it -- its a good thing I actually some hip hop. But his mistake was when he pulled in front of the building I work in and there were two cop cars out front - he cut off one of the cops and I advised him, he might want to pull up some - his response "They can't do nothing to me." Oh - a hater - yeah there went your tip -

Yeah no sleep last night even with my ear plugs - I think they were cleaning my street outside the hotel room for 3 hours last night.

Funny Books Spotted in San Fran

I could not stop laughing in this bookstore and I wanted to buy all of them - what great coffee table books ----

Movies, Movies, Movies

Thats all I did this long weekend - first I will review the ones I saw at the theater:

Indiana Jones - such a disappointment - what was with the whole Alien bullshit in the movie -- could been a lot better and the kid that played Indy's side kick - well not kid but Shia whatever his name is - got on my nerves - I rate this a D+

What Happens in Vegas - pretty damn funny - I normally find Ashton Kutcher annoying, but he was really entertaining in this movie. I think Demi Moore is finally turning him into a man lol. Cameron Diaz isn't aging so well -- she looks old in this movie............... I give it a B

Made of Honor - I thought this was gonna be like My Bestfriends Wedding, but I actually liked it - McDreamy was hot as usual and I liked the ending. I give it a C

Ok - movies watched in the hotel room:

Juno - awesome - I will buy this on DVD
Definitely Maybe - awesome - I will buy this on DVD as well
In Bruges - Colin Farell - he is hot but this movie was really bad - really bad!!!

that's it - I did a whole bunch of nothing this holiday weekend --- lots of movies! I am pretty proud of myself - I went to the movies alone - this has been an oddity of mine to overcome for quite sometime, not bad actually. Nice escape.

Is it Possible to have feelings for someone you can't have?

Yes we are talking about the biker boy - the one I lashed out at a few posts back. This just sucks - we had such a great connection and I miss talking to him everyday, I miss the text messages, the emails, and the way he made me feel about myself.

Yes - I know you my wonderful readers are like "Get over it already Capitol Hill"

I can't! I miss him!

Ugh, I hate feeling like this, I hate that he's married!

Like I said, I won't interfere, that is not my style, not to mention the ugly karma that comes with messing with a situation like that. I am all about Karma people - I like to keep it good.

Anyway, I had to vent - I hate that I developed feelings for this guy! Le Sigh.................................

You too can be an Ethiopian Princess lol

I forgot to mention yesterday's cab ride - oh man - I get in at the hotel and the first words out of this guys mouth are "You are very pretty today" bahahahahah - and he wouldn't shutup -- he asked me all types of questions that were none of his business and then he asked if he could marry me - oh yes I kid you not! I got a marriage proposal from my Ethiopian Cab Driver - I politely declined, its time like this I miss my engagement ring lol.

Anyway - I usually hate all things Starbucks - but the one across the street where I am working at here in San Fran - is awesome - it is hands down the friendliest Starbucks ever and I would so hang out with these people.

So this is the long weekend - usually on Memorial Day, I head over to Arlington National Cemetery and take flowers to my dad's grave site. He was a career Marine - died in 2002. He served in WW2 and the Korean War - got out just before I was born -- he was 48 years old when I was born - parents had me kind of late. Anyway, take a few moments out on Monday and remember what Memorial Day is all about!

Have a great weekend all!

Sigh

Deleted the ole Ted Kennedy post - so not to offend anymore people - sigh

It wasn't meant to be heartless, they were merely my views and my thoughts. I also said I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I have no respect for the Senator or his entire family for that matter - last time I recall I am American and I have the right to have that opinion. I hear people bash President Bush everyday and I see their little countdown clocks on people's blogs and myspaces, but reserve my opinion of how silly I really think it is. Guess what, I like President Bush - I worked on his fathers campaign in college. Oh no! Someone likes W - call out the squad.

The reason I started this blog was to vent about all things DC and things going in my life - now if you don't agree with that - that's fine, but I am not big on being called heartless.

I am a Republican - a moderate one - not a "crazy right winger" that people perceive all Republicans to be. I was a staunch Rudy Supporter and sad he isn't the man - he isn't perfect either.

Most of you would hate to know my views on Obama - but I will leave those out of this blog , because I don't feel like going into WW3 on my views about that man.

With that my sincere apologies to all those offended by my Ted Kennedy post.............that's why I removed it.

Night 2 of no sleep

So its going on midnight here - I even watched them Roast Flava Flav on Vh1, now that was a hoot - kind of felt bad for Brigette Neilson, the insults were just plain wrong and I don't think she understood what half of them met. I was flipping between that and that hotmess of a show Tila Tequila - wow she is skankarific. She is actually a cute girl - just sad she exploits herself the way she does, but she probably makes more money than all of us, so I guess she should just hate the game lol.........................

It is freaking noisy on the streets of San Fran, some freaking truck keeps using its backup sound - so I sit here and read blogs. I am about to throw on my MP3 player (no I don't have an iPod, but looks like I may break down and buy one) and try to go to sleep somehow.

Looks like no one is coming out here now, last friend cancelled due to family emergency and I totally understand that. This just kind of sucks - I am not one for venturing out by myself. Airfare back to DC for the long weekend is just too much.

Anyway gonna take some allergy meds with the hopes of drowsiness and throw on the mp3 player.

The SF Fire Department and other fine ramblings

The fire station is next to my office while here in lovely SF. Its always fun walking by there every morning and every afternoon - I thought only construction workers did cat calls. Granted this is excellent for my low self esteem, I just find it amusing.

I do think I need to invest in some earplugs though - the streets of SF are freaking noisy all night long, from the homeless screaming, to sirens every fking 15 minutes. I slept like shit last night.
I did however partake in some fine Italian eating, pasta made fresh. I had some Gnocchi and damn it was good.

Now lets discuss my man situation and how badly it sucks and how I miss biker boy -- yes, he is married and yes I am staying away. Sadly, I kind of fell for him pretty quick and it really sucks. Never had a guy make me feel so pretty the way he did. Oh well, that little thing called marriage and kids just isn't my thing and I am not about to become a homewrecker. It's not my thing.

However, this leads me to my next topic - Open Marriage - I read two freaking articles in two different magazines last night discussing about people doing this now instead of divorce. I don't know how to think about that. Does the husbands girlfriend and the wifes boyfriend come over for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well? I think its kind of messed up in a way - just what exactly does it entail - I think its strange. Can't you picture it now - a double date with the couples hook ups of the week - kind of strange if you ask me. Wonder is biker boy was pondering that with me - oh how strange...................

Yes, I overused the word strange in the last paragraph - send the grammar police after me lol.......

have a great day!

Week Two San Francisco

Ah yes still here I am --- 3.5 weeks to go.................geesh
Tired of living in a hotel actually - the laundry guys ignored my instructions not to take my underpants out of the lingerie bags - when I got my laundry - my underwear was all folded up and now I am skeeved out. I purposely went out and purchased 6 lingeries bags for this specific purpose, because I was informed the coin laundry places nearby are creepy. I should have bought 30 pairs of underwear lol................................so ick......................

So, I have to rave about the pizza I had the other night - the name of the place is Pizza Orgasmica - great name of a pizza joint and check out their site for the names of the funny pizzas they have like "The Virgin" and the "Kama Sutra"

Great Pizza!

Hoping my one friend comes out this weekend - its up in the air because her mom is sick...........so whatever she decides I understand.

Well, thats all for now...........its still Monday here and Tuesday already in DC..........

Coach store on Post Street in San Fran - YOU SUCK

As many of you know, I love all things Coach. Well the asshats at Post St Coach Store in San Francisco, have made me go on a Coach strike.

Apparently they sent out a coupon - and I was corrected by the snooty sales staff on Saturday its called an invitation. Whatever, I call it a coupon - its says 25% off - its a freaking coupon. So, I didn't have the one that one of my lovely co-workers out here gave me to use. Apparently, asshat Coach changed the rules and you can only use it one time. So, when I went back on Sunday - I found this out by the rude manager there. I was trying to explain to her that I was living here for 30 days with no access to my mail and my "invitation" was on hold at the Woodbridge Post Office. So, I didn't want to use the girls coupon, because they wouldn't let me have it back - so whatever I am not mean. But the snooty attitude from that store really pissed me off. When I was in there on Saturday I did buy a pair of really cute sandals that were already half off, so I am not gonna bitch too much. However, the snobby ass service I received and being corrected on their freaking coupon thing really pissed me off. So - COACH F*** U !!!!

I did get the best haircut of my life in Saturday at Aveda here in SF - she did an amazing job with the layers and really took her time. I am going to have her do highlights before I leave. Sunday, I got a facial and manicure at Elizabeth Arden Red Door - yeah I know we have one in DC, but I wanted to try it here. EXCELLENT!!! I loved the little Russian lady that did my facial - she was so cute and we talked about Russia because I would like to visit there someday.

Getting used to West Coast Time now.......

So, the free wine and cheese was ok - it was free thats all that mattered.

I had the best massage last night and the best sleep of my life last night. So worth it!!!!!

I am keep busy work wise. I have decided to wait till I get back to DC to get the tattoo --- I talked to a few places out here and I am not liking their attitude. Plus, yelp does not give Ed Hardy's shop good reviews - so no on that one!

I was going to hit Vegas this weekend, but I may hold off a bit on that one. I may rent a car on Saturday or Sunday and take a drive down the coast or up into Wine Country - haven't decided yet. I will not however be stuck in my hotel room being bored.

The people in my office are just awesome!!! So helpful at recommending places to go, taking me with them to lunch everyday - I just really like the atmosphere here. Plus, the fact I don't have to dress up makes life awesome. I am sporting my cute Coach flipflops today!!! One of the girls in the office is sharing her coach coupon with me as well for 25% off - guess where I will be this weekend as well - the Coach store. LOL

Tonights agenda includes getting my nails done - one of the girls in the office recommended a place up in the Nob Hill area - so hopefully that will go well.

I so needed this work trip - just to get away - I do miss my kitties though :-(

Free Wine and Cheese my friends

I have 15 minutes left in my work day and I am getting ready to hail another crappy cab, go back to the hotel -the hotel has free wine and cheese beginning at 5pm - and tarot card readings.

I will be getting a massage at 7:30 looking so forward to it!!!!!!

anyway - I love the people in my office - very cool!!!

San Fran Cabs suck!!!

Cab ride to work this morning was hell big time. The cab reaked of cigarette smoke, I should have gotten out, but I was still too tired, I am still on East Coast time and I am feeling sick. He was really bad driver.

I am hoping to get a massage after work - because I feel like shit, I guess its all the travel crap catching up.

Anyway - back to work

Greetings from San Francisco

Well, I am here in one piece and not used to the time change lol.
I upgraded my seat to economy plus on the plane for the extra legroom, but why is it, a large person is always in the middle seat. This british guy sat in the middle, hogged up both the armrests and I was squished for 5.5 hours - luckily I had the window seat.

The hotel upgraded my room for free since I will be living here for a month lol.............

Louis Vuitton and Chanel are 2 blocks away - YAY I am in shopping heaven.

Anyway I am off to eat breakfast then go to work.

:-)

Happy Friday

Well, I am still packing - not shocking to some. My awesome friend is loaning me her laptop bag with wheels - yay, cause the work laptop weights a ton - why must they issue me a toughbook, its not like I am going into war.

I added some new blogs that I really enjoy reading. There are some awesome DC bloggers out there and some very funny people.

Tonight hanging out with some friends at the local bar. Tommorow - packing, going to the post office to stop my mail, and more packing!!!!

The next blog will be from sunny California.

Have a Great Weekend All!

Ringback Tone Fun and being the Third Wheel

Yes, I am that person that when you call me - instead of a ring, you will hear "Please enjoy the music, while your party is reached: insert song of choice"

I love it and it annoys people on so many levels -- haha anyway I just found the most perfect song for how I am feeling these days about guys: "The More Boys I Meet" by Carrie Underwood
http://www.last.fm/music/Carrie+Underwood/_/The+More+Boys+I+Meet

basically the more boys she meets, the more she loves her dog. HA - so appropriate.

While I do like being single right now, the one big thing that annoys the living hell out of me is being the third wheel and my friends who have significant others that control their every move. Last Friday, I was the flipping third wheel - and apparently my San Francisco trip isn't going to be as fun now, because it appears only one of my friends is coming to visit me. Ya know why? Because she is single. I am just annoyed, I have never let a guy rule my world. I like my space and I know some of you are probably thinking ("No wonder she is single.") - nope thats not it.

So, I guess for 3 of the 4 weekends I will be in SF - I will hanging with myself. Kind of sucks, but whatever............

Packing Help Please

So my fashionable readers - I am in quite the dilemma because I do not trust the airlines with what I have in my baggage. So, I am limited to what Coach items I can pack, which I can't pack any for fear of theft and since you can't lock your luggage anymore - this makes this decision difficult.

So, I am gone for 30 days and I am only limited to 2 carry on - one is already reserved for the laptop - the other my purse/tote whatever. Do I carry my cute Vera Bradley Tote with just a Coach Wristlet inside to use when I go around town in? Or do I carry my black leather Coach purse, that's kind of big and throw my wristlet in there for carry when I am walking the streets of San Fran?

So - what is your opinion - speak up leave it in my comments, Vera Bradley or Coach bag?

Please note inside these bags I have to haul my creds, a coach wallet, coach sunglasses and coach glasses inside, as well as the baggie of my 10 lipglosses inside hahaha.

Think I am obsessed Coach a little too much? HA - you have no idea - I am so nervous of packing my Coach shoes for fear of theft. Oh well risk I'm gonna take.

I would appreciate all opinions on this matter and the number to the Coach Addicts Anonymous Hotline as well.

thanks :-)

10 Reasons Why I am excited to go to San Francisco

10. I am tired of married men and the stupid games - psst Biker Boy I am referring to you! Unfortunately, still in the picture in an annoying way. And to answer the question you are thinking - NO I am not sleeping with him!!!

9. I am tired of being the third wheel lately everywhere I go. I adore my friends, but leave your husbands/boyfriends home one night and just hang out with me. I feel like an idiot.

8. The Four Star Hotel I am staying in.

7. The new tattoo I am getting at Ed Hardy's shop!!! I already have my consultation appointment booked and I checked out the artists work and wow, just wow!!! Amazing.

6. A weekend in wine country - gonna get my drink on - wooohoo.

5. Alcatraz - the night tour -- did the daytime one when I lived there - wanna see it at night! Spooky!

4. I just really need a mental break from a bunch of other things and wrap myself in this awesome case I will be working on.

3. I get to see an old friend who I used to have a crush on! Hmm - pack condoms, cause ya never know!

2. The Weather - I love the weather in San Fran - its always like Spring

and the number one reason - 1. Did I mention I am not paying one damn dime for this? YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

This is so cool - Ed Hardy Tattoo In San Francisco

Ok, so you guys know I am going to San Francisco for an entire month. So, I have been doing a little research of tattoo shops out there, because I want to get my batman symbol shaded in and another tattoo done.

To much of my surprise - Ed Hardy has his shop in SF: http://www.tattoocitysf.com/

So, I am going to get the batsymbol I have now shaded in pink - its already just an outline.....

This is what I am probably going to get: http://tn3-1.deviantart.com/300W/i/2002/5/2/8/Angel_and_Devil_tattoo.jpg

Anyway, just excited to go see his shop!

I am getting so excited about this trip!!!!!

Things that make me wonder.............................

1. Went to the movies on Saturday night, saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall (HILARIOUS) - anyway, annoying woman behind me provided commentary the entire movie and laughed so freaking loud, I think the entire movie theater heard her. Makes me wonder - why are people so inconsiderate?

2. Train was packed this morning - how come men don't give their seats up anymore to women? Has chivarly died?

3. Why do most women carry so many freaking bags with them? I carry a small tote purse, a Vera Bradley that is very cute actually. Crowded train + 3 totes = not a good idea.

4. Abuse of our welfare system annoys me - I know a girl I used to work with at the vet hospital that can't get Wick checks (I think that's what their called) to help assist her with her baby. She said everytime she goes to the office, the receipents don't speak English and are taking the aid away from her that she desperately needs. I would think a U.S. Citizen, tax paying single mom should have priority over illegal aliens. Right? yeah - not so much.

Is It Weird that I like going to the dentist?

I had my 6 month checkup and cleaning this morning and I actually look forward to going to the dentist. I take great pride in my teeth, my parents did fork over a lot of money back in high school for braces, so I want them to remain looking awesome. Again - no cavities today!!!! I was hearing the dentist and hygenist talking about this 15 yr old girl coming in today for a root canal. Seriously??? That's a little young, the most dental work I had at that age was having 4 teeth removed for my braces. I have had a few cavities over my life, but no root canals. My teeth are awesome and one of my best features actually. For as much coffee as I drink now - you would think they would be stained, nope still looking nice and white!!!!

I think everyone should go to the dentist twice a year for the routine cleanings and checkups - its very important.

Ok, this public service message was brought to you by the letter D and the number 3.
